Not So Bad Experience
We had a few annoying issues involved with our last journey only because there is a communication problem with the Wightlink's recent policy of service.
I am happy to say the issues were resolved amicably when we contacted the staff successfully.

Good service. Too much waiting around before departure
The service provided was good. I think that requiring customers to check-in 30 minutes before the boat departs is excessive from the customers' perspective, especially in very hot weather. Please consider reducing this time to say 20 minutes. I can see that the 30 minute check-in rule is beneficial to Wightlink, but customers' time and convenience is equally important.

I only sail with wightlink
I've been using wightlink Twice a year from 2013, and I've never had a problem.
We had sailed from both car ferry ports and sailed on the sun,sky,light,St clare,Victoria and the St faith which has Character has she was built in 1990. all boats was very clean and the crews are very friendly.
I can't review the Catamarans ryder1 to 2 has they are the only boats I've not sailed on but would love to one day soon.

Travelled from Portsmouth to Isle of…
Travelled from Portsmouth to Isle of Wight with car then back again few days later. Our experience both journeys was good, staff polite. Bonus for us was booking online using Tesco clubcard vouchers which covered full cost of Ferry as get 3 times value of voucher!

Recently travelled from Portsmouth to…
Recently travelled from Portsmouth to Fishbourne return. The ferries we we on were fine and had no issue with the ferries and crossing. I do have issues with the Portsmouth port staff especially the check in staff who was very rude. Checked in on time but apparently that was too early.
Fishbourne staff were nice, Portsmouth wasn't. Customer service training needs to be carried out.

I’ve read Ken M’s review
I’ve read Ken M’s review. I had a similar experience on 24 April and l was refused to pay cash for £1.00 item. Wightlink says they’re worried about covid transmission from cash but they let dozens of people in the lounge with no mask. Pound is legal tender of Britain and as long as Bank of England carries on printing it any company operates in Britain is legally obliged to accept it. Wightlink is no exception, British company cannot refuse legal tender of the country. May be they think they are above the law.

Third time we have used wightlink and…
Third time we have used wightlink and 3rd time we have had our return delayed due to mechanical failure. Our return is always 3 to 4 hours later than planned so we return to Portsmouth at peak tea time. It says to go online to amend booking but will not allow this to happen, says it cannot be changed.
One word to describe wightlink is unreliable.
Since this is happening so often and you cant do anything about it then there should be discounts for futher trips, but since nothing gets done then Wightlink gets away with it.

Company is making people leave Island taking Businesses away from Island
This company is making people leave the Island, costing businesses and jobs due to their greed. No care for Hospital workers, Hospital patients as no Fast boat back to the Island after 8.20, miss that and you won't get home till well after 11pm, yes nearly 3 hours to travel just 3 miles. Abusing Covid as excuses, prices up but services halved. So saving an absolute fortune and still charging massive prices. A day return for a Islander is nearly £80 for 1 normal size car. £2k for season foot passengers but having to do a 5 hour commute to Island as not providing a later FastCat. People on social media, begging for later service, even our usless MP says its needed but this greedy company won't act as too greedy.

A complete failure
A proper dreadful company, no FastCat back to the Island after 8.20. You have to wait till 10pm via car ferry arriving at Fishbourne at 1045pm, so nearly 2.5 hours to get back to Island and no way of getting back to car at Ryde unless walk/bus or cab, makin it nearly 3 Hours just to retuen to Island from Portsmouth. Abusing Covid as reason why no running services, boats packed and just ripping of customers.
Just recived nearly £300k of taxpayers cash to do disabled toilets, but can't even provide any kind of service. I would travel with Red Funnel as at least they offer a later service as this company is utter sh...t. Good old local MP utter usless and good as a chocolate teapot, but probably due to his friend/relative working for the company and managed to secure them the £300k in Govenment grants. Still.managed ti pay it shargeikder massive returns and CEO on nearly £2 Million.

Cashless and blaming Covid.
Wightlink is another company that have gone cashless using Covid as an excuse! The online booking system is excellent and the overall experience very good but you cannot get a coffee or refreshments at the terminal or onboard the ferries unless you are prepared to use a card. Yesterday a fellow passenger felt sorry for my predicament and kindly used her card to make my purchase taking my cash in return.
It is ridiculous that our Government allow companies like Wightlink to refuse cash.

Half Fatscat Services. Using Covid as an excuse STILL and till Dec 20222
Company is running half the previous FastCat services, last ferry to Island is at 8.20pm. People selling up and moving to mainland as service is so bad. Costing people jobs and now a Temporary Timetable till December 2022. Not offering any refund of discount to season ticket holders who are paying for a full service but getting less than half.

Yeah Wighlink really helpfully reply getting back to Fishbourne at 1045pm, and now a £15 cab fare back to Ryde to pick the car. Really Really F'ing Helpful you utter clowns. How about you pay for your own toilets rather than rip of the taxpayer for nearly £300k, as you can't even run a actual service.

Excellent Ferry operator
I have been using Wightlink for over 30 years
Excellent service as always.
Went to family graves on the Mainland and due to London Traffic being much better than usual I was able to get back to Portsmouth much earlier than planned.

Wightlink kindly let me board a much earlier Ferry.

5 Star ☆☆☆☆☆ Service

Service +4 ferries -1
I've visited Isle of Wight three times using Wightlink and every time I've missed a departure.
Still, it hasn't proven a problem and the staff has always been helpful and kind to get me on the next ferry.
I think the website is easy to navigate and amending a booking is easy too.
The ferries have terrible seating comfort and hence the lack of star no. 5.

Bunch of muppets (port staff) having arrived with cash but no card to get on a ferry they are completely inept and hopeless. Office staff in Fishbourne are beyond useless.
This no cash routine? You must be employing alot of untrustworthy and dishonest people to push this into 2022 !
